Marley and Me

So for my summer reading, I had to choose a book that caught my interest. Normally, I don't have much luck. But this time... I came across a book about a dog. It looked pretty interesting and was perfect since I'm an animal lover, so I decided that I'd read it. Never did I think it would become one of my all-time favorite books. It is incredible!!! Everything this dad, John went through and his wife, Jenny... you could just feel the joy.. feel the frustration...feel the pain...feel the embarrassment..feel the sorrow. And what made it even more exciting or at some points depressing... was it was all true. This book gave me quite a few laugh out louds and even a few tears. I have never been so touched by a book before. I recommend it to EVERYONE, especially if you are an animal lover like me. You won't regret it.

The Rise and Fall of the American Teenager

I had to read this book for an AP Language Class this
coming year, and it was definitely different than I had
expected it to be. I thought it would be all about modern
teens, but instead it evaluated them from different periods
of history, as well as teens from other parts of the world.
If you like history and have to read this book,
congratulations, otherwise, take notes on what you think
are important facts, because I finished it 3 weeks ago
and can't remember a thing. Good luck juniors!

Keeping the Moon, Kept me reading!

I recently read a book called Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen. It's one of the most amazing books I ever read! It's basically about a girl named Colie who is trying to discover herself, but she has a bit of trouble doing that on her own. When she goes to a new town for the summer to stay with her Aunt Mira, (since her mother is a big famous exercise instructor and has to go to Europe), she is pretty bummed about it. To her surprise, she meets many people along the way, including the people who are going to change her for the better. She finally has found people to accept her for who she truely is. She realizes that what happened in the past, shouldn't determine her future. She even falls for a boy & he falls for her. The book has taught me so much about life & I could feel myself going along Colie's whole journey. I highly recommend it to anyone that is just trying to fit in & accept themselves for who they are.

Heart-Shaped Box

I am in the middle of reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. It is about an aging rock star who keeps a collection of occult items. From the internet he buys a ghost, which turns out to be more than he bargained for when it begins to haunt and try to kill him. It is definately an adult book. If you are easily spooked this may not be the book for you, but with it's twists and turns, it is definately a great read for those who can stomach it.

This book has taught me some valuable lessons about life. I enjoyed this book very much! *I kind of had to read this book for my book project, ever since, I can't stop reading it!* Some lessons covered are: forgiveness, wants and needs, and the most IMPORTANT lesson you will learn is the ... Meaning of life!

This book is written by Madeleine L'Engle and it's about a girl named Vicky Austin and her trip to Antarctica, which is a gift from her Aunt Serena. Along the way, she meets many people, who are not all whom they seem. So Vicky's trying to figure out who is good and bad and meet up with her friend Adam. It has a couple of mysteries within the story and something different from adventure or romance books. Or even typical mysteries.
